They were arranged like a \u2018+\u2019; four flowers total. For some accents, I added some long leaves between each flower, carefully making sure they didn\u2019t disturb the flowers and didn\u2019t poke out too much.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I placed the camera in front of one of the flowers and made sure it focused. Shining the flashlight on the white curtains behind the jar made the light bounce off it, illuminating the flowers. However, the dimness allowed for the dark to creep in around the edges of the photo.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9aa436fbe8497a410660f1595af5ceea\" id=\"finish-touch\" style=\"letter-spacing:0px\">Finishing Touches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next step is editing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8a9e45a532a82e8c79ebb0c3d68e1dcc\" id=\"phone\" style=\"letter-spacing:0px\">Phone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On my phone, I used a free editing app called Snapseed to adjust this photo. I started by using a filter called, \u201cFaded Glow\u201d which gave the photo a slight purple hue. In addition, it also dimmed the photo. I also decided that the photo was in need of some more adjustments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-e66bea23 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Color Balance:<\/strong> more blue on the blue-yellow spectrum negated the yellow areas within the jar and the long leaf. A softer brush on a mask kept this adjustment specific to those areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-link-color wp-elements-b520ff53a59847814cec841b22257606 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Curves:<\/strong> A basic photograph edit with curves is to make an \u2018S\u2019 with the line. That alone can improve a photograph, but others may need something else. For example, an \u2018S\u2019 curve made this image\u2019s colors too saturated, but creating a point in the middle and dragging it down darkened the image overall. To remedy that, I created two new points; one a fourth of the way up and one a fourth down from the top and dragged them back to the center diagonal line. This, essentially, increased the shadows and highlights back to where they were while keeping the mid tones darker.
